City center to Kolkata airport - how much time and when it's better to fly?

Hi,

I'm planning to depart from Kolkata Intl airport. I've got two options: depart at 2am or at 11am, weekday is Saturday in both cases.

I've heard about heavy traffic in Kolkata and also long security checks at the airport entrance, so I need advice on the following:
what time is less busy (security queue shorter, etc) : in the first case (airport entrance time would be about 11pm-midnight I suppose) or in the second (airport entrance at 8..9am)?

How many hours before flight departure it would be safe to leave city center in order not to miss my plane? Thanks in advance.

edog,
The length of the queue at security would depend on the number of flights that is scheduled for departure at that time. Since one option you have mentioned is a 2 AM flight, I assume you are flying international. The queue should be shorter during the day flight.
If you are traveling during the day, keep one and a half hours to travel to airport. If you are traveling after 10PM, one hour should be sufficient.
