British Citizen held for ransacking Post Office

Just came in news headlines. A British citizen ransacked computers in a Post Office of the Hare Street area in Kolkata. She had been detained by police for her offense. More news yet to come.

Yeah she probably got pissed off with the lack of service, have to stitch her parcels in a cloth bag, then make sure the stitching is proper, then line up for a hour to be told that she had done it wrong, don't really blame her.

In Times of India the incident appeared just as a caption of a picture (of that lady). The caption says:
Quote:
Northern Ireland resident Jennifer Hudson (32) suddenly turned violent at the foreign parcel department on Kiran Shankar Roy Road on Tuesday afternoon and smashed several computers. She had gone there to collect a parcel but the officials told her that she would have to get it from Bowbazar post office as her present address — Buddhist Temple Road — lies under its jurisdiction. But she was adamant on collecting it from the KS Roy Road office. This led to an altercation when she allegedly turned violent. Cops from Hare Street PS later found her to be depressed. “We have not arrested her. We are waiting for the probe report,’’ said a police officer

Hi all,

Here is the report from the local newspaper: http://www.telegraphindia.com/110122...y_13331054.jsp

She should have abide with the laws of the land. It is the modesty of the postal staffs that they didn't lodge any FIR against this lady. I think she was under drugs. She just spoiled the dignity of foreign tourists. In India foreign tourist are treated as Guests...and treated almost as God.

She was gangling, according to that.

Mind you, I have, several times, felt like doing much the same in Axis bank. Whenever we have a complaint, they put on good impression of a darkened anechoic chamber, by simply refusing to respond. It leads one to doubt one's own existence!

This girl staying at my guest house in Chennai, asked directions to the post office. I ended up going with her to post a parcel overseas every third day or so for 2 months. One day i went by myself to the post office to send a parcel to aust, i was told no overseas parcels from here, i must go to main post office. I protested, that i have helped post lots of overseas parcels from here, and in fact 2 days ago you did just that for myself and my friend. He replied by saying- you will find no consistency here, and tomorrow is a new day- controlling the urge to cut his heart out and wave it in his face, i left defeated, i had no come back

Well there you go the incompetence in India is a joke, no wonder she snapped, India seems to be still stuck in the 18th century.

Anyway why can't I post threads or attachments? I have done my time.
