Bangkok to Kolkata
Hey guys, this is my very first thread! I am off to Inida in September and want to find the cheapest way of getting from Bangkok to Kolkata. From what I can see AirIndiaExpress is the best price - about 7000 indian rupees, which is pretty bearable. But I am looking at prices from a computer in New Zealand and wonder which little add ons I can expect etc. Is AirIndiaExpress reliable? Why only flights on some days? Is it safer to book from home country before trip or wait till Bangkok and do it there? Any information sincerely appreciated.
Kind Regards Chris. |

Hi Chris,
Air India Express is Good and it is a subsidary of Air India. 7000 INR is a pretty good fare for a one way. Just check if it includes all taxes. You can check the break up while booking. As it is a low cost airline, the fares would benefit those who book first and hence you may book the same as early as possible as the fare might increase with each booking done. Raghu Quote:

Thanks. I actually meant 7000THB (Thai Baht) and that is for a return ticket, my bad!. I also see this question has been asked before, so that is not the best start for me! Thanks for the reply though. It looks like Air India has the best prices. I gave researched most available airlines.

Hello Christopher and welcome to IndiaMike! Take your time to look around the forums (check out Kolkata forum for a start) and ask away. Happy travels.

Hey, 2 days ago I flew with Air India Express from Bangkok to Kolkata and it was absolutely OK. I Paid about 3500 THB one way, including the Bangkok departure tax /700THB/ and airport taxes. I booked the ticket with Travel In Style Agency in Bangkok /in a small street close to Khao San/. I even had an onboard meal included in the price. The flight was OK and I can only recommend it.
