BANEDI BARI PUJAS in Kolkata .... URGENT Help Needed for Puja 2009
Hi Friends,
In the coming Puja, I am planning to do something different ... instead of the general Pandel Hopings ... I am planning to visit the Old Traditional Pujas in the BANEDI BARI ... which is within Kolkata and also at the close viciniy and motorable distances form the City .... Can you please help me by letting me know what are the exact locations of these Houses (It'll also be helpful if you also tell me the name of the Houses as well )... If possible also provide me a Route Map or Planning that where to start and waht will be the ending point .... I'll visit this places with my own car ... so I want to cover almost all or the most of the places in a Day I am planning to vist within Kolkata on Saptami ... and Outskirts of Kolkata on Nabami .... Looking forward for your responses ...  |

In these days I have done some researches on this ... and I found that the tours conducted by WB Tourism or Chalo Jai cover a very small number of Places ... So I have planned to visit the Places by my small car ...  I have listed down as much as the Place Names I can gather : Traditional Durga Puja in Bengali households (within Calcutta ) : 1. SABORNO DURGA PUJA (Barisha) ... Sabarna Chaudhuri Bari 2. SEAL DURGA PUJA (Chorbagan) 3. Laha Bari Durga Puja (Thanthania) 4. Chatu Babu Latu Babu Durga Puja 5. Durga Puja of the Mukherjee household (Ishwar Jagat Ram Mukherjee) 6. Pathuriyaghata Durga Puja 7. Mitra Household (Padda Pukur) Durga Puja 8. Sobha Bazar Rajbari Durga Puja 9. Hatkhola Dutta Bari Durga Puja 10. Thanthania Dutta Bari 11. Bishu Mukherjee Bari Durga Puja 12. Bhowanipur Mullick Bari Durga Puja 13. Mukherjee parivar(Dum Dum)Durga Puja 14.
