A Nice Little Article on Kolkata

Kolkata: India with soul

It makes a few recommendations of places to go, and generally recommends Kolkata. Just nice to see something positive about India in the papers.

Silmaril, thanks for pointing to a nice article with a different perspective. My last visit to Kolkata was a decade ago, and trust me, I never dared to recommend it to anybody, however, I loved the road side shopping,'Mishti Dhoi'(sweetened curd)and rickshaw rides there...

What a lovely, and loving, article - thanks for that! I love Kolkata, and it really brought it to life for me again. Oh, and I strongly recommend a visit there (although if they start providing facilities for toooo many tourists, it will quickly lose its unique charm )

Great article; it brought it all back to life for me again. Not a city for the fainthearted though! I love it and will always return.

Certainly one of the best articles I've read on the city - slowly it seems to be shedding it's cliched, one-dimensional 60s-70s image. Hopefully Kolkata will continue to retain it's unique charm as increasing numbers of tourists visit there in the years ahead.
