which town first from Coimbatore
We will be arriving in Coimbatore from Mumbai and wish to visit the towns of ooty, mysore, wayland, kannur and calicut(then onto Kochi & further south).
Which towns should be visit first - from coimbatore so we are travelling in one direction. I thought ooty, myrore, wayland, then over to calicut, however, i haven't been able to source a map that indicates this is the correct order. If Mysore is the last stop, is there a bus we can catch to calicut? Also, is taxi/driver the best way to travel for this part of our trip. Any guidance would be appreciated. Thanks. Carolynn ![]() |

which town first from Coimbatore (cont)...
vandy, we haven't been to india b4, but will be travelling in january 2009. we are entering india via delhi from singapore.
we are keen to visit mysore following recommendations from surfing net. as for accommodation, we have selected all accommodation. have a mixture of hotels with a number of homestays. Oh, btw - just found out that if we fly delhi - bangalore, we can get shatabdi exp to mysore, then wayanad > ooty > calicut. this is ok huh??? Quote:

Trip to India
Hi there,
Do you need to go Delhi, you can fly Singapore - Bangalore. If you intend visiting Delhi to go see Taj Mahal, Fair Enough. How long do you have ? & where is your exit Point? There is no train line to Ooty from Mysore side Direct, you have to go Mysore to Coimbatore and then Ooty.Mysore to Ooty is by road only.Great car Journey though through Real Rural India. Flight from Delhi to Bangalore is good idea as Bangalore is long way from Delhi, even by train. See if you can have a look at Rail Network for Sth India. vandy ![]() |
