Smile Where to learn Kalaripayattu (near Trivandrum)

Well its been a few years since this post was made and I have the same question. Does anyone know of a good place to learn Kalaripayattu in or around Triv? I'll have about a week on my own in Trivandrum and was thinking of taking classes. Has anyone taken it who can give a little more info about it.

In my opinion, you have posted the thread with a wrong title in wrong forum. You should have been on Kerala forum with "kalaripayattu training in trivandrum" as title.

I don't have much idea on the topic, but if you google the term "kalaripayattu training" or "kalaripayattu training in trivandrum" you could get plenty of options.

There's this older thread on the subject: Kerala Kalarippayattu.

I did a search and could only find an old topic that was posted in the wrong section, at the risk of having someone saying I posted when someone already posed the question, I just replied to the old topic. Wasn't sure on the ethics of that one, guess having a new topic in the right section is better...
Machandinha, thank you for that link! That is exactly what I was looking for. I think it did not come up in search due to the great variety of ways you can spell Kalaripayattu (aka Kalarippayattu, Kalaripayat, Kalarippayat, Kalari, etc etc etc etc... )

I don't know if you can learn it in a week.
Try C.V.N Kalari, East Fort.

Thanks rsHari. I emailed that school, it looks like the best choice. I'm hoping I will at least be able to try it for a week. I know I won't be able to complete any of the training courses in such a short time.

No worries, Jared, it just goes like that. Sometimes better to tag on to another thread, sometimes to start a new one... Anyway, the mods seem to have diligently fixed it

Indeed, often an issue with transcriptions of Indian words, right. I just happened to remember I'd been on a thread involving the word kalari

Have a fun week! Let us know later how you found it.
