Very Long Trip Report, Part 9 - Epilogue (THE END)
EPILOGUE - (THE END)
OK, our 4 weeks travelling around Kerala in March 2009, is over. However I would like to make some final thanks and comments, before my posts, and I, sink slowly down the forum pages and disappear into history . I would like to thank all of you on the forums, who took the time and trouble to reply to my original questions, before we left the UK, and were therefore instrumental in making our trip such a success. Without your help I doubt we would have managed to see half of what we did, and we did get to see a lot. Secondly I would like to thank all of you who have taken time out of their lives to spend time reading my reports. I know they are most probably too long, but I didn’t want to leave anything out! A special thanks to those of you who replied to the posts and helped fill in the blanks of things we saw, but were unsure of. My final thanks go out to all the people of Kerala, especially the ones we met. You are so warm and friendly and you made us extremely welcome. We feel privileged to have seen your world, if only for a brief time. I hope in some way that travellers who follow where we have been manage to experience some of the things we did and if only one person manages to find my posts useful, then all the hours I have spent typing these reports will have been worth it. I would urge anyone who is slightly hesitant about straying off the normal tourist route to give it a go. You will not be disappointed. The people here on the forums will help and guide you. Well that’s it. I’m off to get my life back!! And to plan for our next trip. I wish you all well and happy travels. Best Regards Graham & Jean ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- For anyone who missed any of the other parts of this epic , or just want to see the photos – here are the links Part 1 - Very Long Trip Report, Part 1 - Cochin Part 2 – Very Long Trip Report, Part 2 - Pooram at Ottapalam/Chinakkathoor/Pallapuram Part 3 – Very Long Trip Report, Part 3 - Thalassery & Kannur Part 4 – Very Long Trip Report, Part 4 - Palakkad & Nelliampathy Part 5 – Very Long Trip Report, Part 5 - Munnar Part 6 – Very Long Trip Report, Part 6 - Periyar + Tiger Trail Part 7 – Very Long Trip Report, Part 7 - Alleppey Part 8 – Very Long Trip Report, Part 8 - Varkala & Odayam |

Graham, Jean,
Thanks a lot for the detailed information. Even I, a native of Kerala, found a lot of new information from your series. I am sure that this will be helpful for future travellers. Will try to follow you on other similar countries too... All the best and have fun visiting new places. |
