Varkala accommodation

When you have arrived at temple junction off the bus walk down to the beach past the temple pool, grab a refreshing coconut for 10rps on the way, along the sand till you see the cliff full of restaurants, little bambo shacks to rent, book shops and ayurvedic treatments. Make your way up onto the cliff via the long steep steps and walk along past cafe del mar a typical tourist trap which has poor wifi and the worst indian food I've had in India but somehow it's always busy, continue walking along the cliff past an amazing restaurant which is up some metal steps called tuman, they do a large pot of masala chi for 70rps which will last you a day. Anyway just continue to walk down the cliff resisting the temptation to stay anywhere else past the blue moon bar and the rock and roll cafe till you come to a beautiful coloured building with little wooden shacks in front of it called dream shore, looked after a Nepalese lad called John and his little dog who are both amazing, 300rps a night for the rooms there all sea view and the little huts with tv's are 500. Where here now and it's the best time to come off season, peak season in December is supposed to be full of idiot not caring tourists. April-June amazing. Safe travels samaste............

I can't find a website, there is only a website for another hotel called dream shore which is very pricey it's blue, you want the yellow and red dream shore just take a chance and have a look isn't that what blogging is all about?

some accommodations will be owned by a certain person this tour season and next year you find altogether a different person

so i thought having an address was good !

I've heard that the rain in July is intense in Varkala. If I have 3 nights in Trivandrum, 12-15 July, is it worth a trip to Varkala even if it's downpouring??

would recommend , if you like monsoon rains

and again it might rain for few hours and then few hours of sun and some beach time
somedays it might be cloudy the entire day with little sun out here
