Kerala where you are headed is on the western Coast while I am on the eastern coast but both are in the Southern part of the country.

I am a member of a Boat Club in Chennai and hence able to offer sculling. Please do come.

This should give some details of Kerala traditional sports boating.

However boats have been used for all purposes there and one can meet to learn and teach and work in that context. Best of luck on your venture or adventure!

Oh yes. I have spent a lot of time on the backwaters too! Lovely spot. I get so sad seeing my boat with a tarpaulin over it. Roll on spring!

yep roll on spring, i have an old cabin cruiser not doing much, i wonder how much it would cost to take to india on a big ship.

prob not the best idea as it would be too hot, but i like the idea of a very small houseboat,

i have started a thread on property in india about boats in india. perhaps i can pick myself up a long indian wooden canoe.

cheers, alex.
