to India via Colombo(Sri Lanka)

Are there any restrictions on arriving from Colombo to say Bangalore? I have looked around and cant find any answers so far.
A thought at the moment is to start with 5 days in Sri Lanka before flying into Bangalore to start my Indian trip. Or in reverse, flying from Bangalore to Colombo at the end of the trip. Has anyone tried this? I'm sure they have, any advice, suggestions or ideas would be appreciated. By the way I would organise my India visa before I left Australia, is this possible? Reading threads just discovered I think you arrive in Colombo and get a tourist visa on arrival. That would mean my visa will read coming from Sri Lanka, Aust citizen. This trip is a long way off yet, still planning. cheers. Zamba.

It's just a normal entry. What restrictions do you envisage? I've flown into Chennai a few times.

Thanks Goan, I was not sure of the political situation between the 2 countries and whether they put up some barriers or not. I have added to my post if you would care to read it again and add any thoughts. I know I can fly to Bangalore(my preferred option at the moment). Zamba.
