Three sleepy months lazing in kerala

Firstly, apologies for this lazy pre-research post. I'm off to Kerala for three months in December and I'm looking into itineraries.

On previous travels I've been happy to arrive somewhere, meet a group of locals/travellers and contentedly spend several weeks with my books and new found friends.

I love nature, simplicity, sunrises, sunsets, silence, locals, seasoned travellers ...

So, on the off chance that someone will generously share that tucked away location or area and a hotel name (cheap please) with good communal areas and a vibe.

And any really good Ashtanga places (Mysore self practice style) would be very welcome
