Hi all!
I'm going to be in Kerala from March 1 - 9, and I can't wait! My hubby and I were hoping to do a homestay while we're in Fort Cochin and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions -- either for a person/place to contact or on how to go about finding one? Thanks! Lily ![]() |

Hi there, if you go to Check out Forums and then
go to the section that covers the various states and click on Kerala, you should find some similar questions to yours with some answers, also have you looked at the Hotels Section. I keep hearing good reviews about Raintree Lodge. Have a Great Trip. vandy ![]() |

My Hubby and i got back from India yesterday after spending a month travelling around. We spent 3 days in Cochin and stayed in a homestay called Beenas. It was fantastic. Beena and her husband Sudi make you feel so welcome, she is the local health inspecter and the food she cooks was the best we had in the month we were in India. I would highly recommend this homestay. Oh and the charge is only 800rs per night, food included, that was for both of us. They made our stay in Cochin. |

HA! that's a good one! I got salmonella food poisoning from a pastry at the Elite Hotel on Princess Street.
Beena should go there and shut them down before someone dies from eating their food! |

Hi Vandy
Yes Beena's homestay was theone you told me about, and a big thankyou for that. Also stayed with Thomas and Rose at the malayan resort,Alleppy, that was one of our highlights along with Mumbai, it was fantastic as was the little country boat you recommended. All the different types of accommadation we stayed at will be going in the hotel section when i have an hour to spare, pretty maxed out since we got back. |

bluemoon, as a recent member you might not have access to private message feature whereby you could send a message to chinadolly and she would get an email alert about the message(if she has PM turned on and set to default settings). It takes a combination of minimum numbers of postings and a certain period since signing up to enable private messaging. You could always post a message in the 'Forum Help and Announcements' section ( http://www.indiamike.com/india/forum...uncements-f53/ ) to have one of the moderators help you out with a way to contact chinadolly.
