ponmudi hill station
When in Kovalam is it a good idea to try to get to ponmudi hill station. Can it be done using public transport and is it a day trip?

I could be wrong ... but I have heard from a few locals (including some of my family who live in Trivandrum) that it has lost its its charm because it has now become a favorite places for kids from the neighboring colleges to get drunk. Hence not recommended especially if you have a girl/lady in the group. ... Lots of incidents of harassment.
