Planning a day at Guruvayur and Vaddukanatha temples

Hi all: another bunch of questions (sorry!) fr our trip to Kerala in August 09..I've never been to either of these temples and had 2 questions, one religious and one cultural:

1. How long should one plan for getting a darshan at Guruvayur and Vaddukanatha sanctum sanctoriums?

2. I am not able to judge how complex the architectural complex is, because i do want to make sure that we give ample time to explore the areas, enjoy the architecture/sculpture etc.

Thanks so much for your advice.

I was in Guruvayur last July 2008. In one hour you'll get your dharsan as everything is quite well organized, afterwords you can enjoy the complex, in my opinion not that much interesting.

Vadakkunathan is not that busy as the Guruvayur. It should be very much possible to get inside without any queue at all. Just try to reach early morning.

You were lucky, usually it takes around 2 hours at the least, more if it is an auspicious day.
