Parents' 35th anniversary...suggestions Hey all, Chanced upon this brilliant site, and had a query of my own. Plan to have a small celebration, by gifting parents a Kerala trip as their anniversary comes along (and well of course what better gift if their not too young kids tag along too ![]() Had this itin in plan, needed some suggestions: Day 1: Land at Trivandrum, Stay at Kovalam Day 2: Stay at Kovalam Day 3: Drive to Alleppey/Kumarokam Day 4: Houseboat at Alleppey Day 5: Drive to Munnar Day 6: Stay at Munnar Day 7:Undecided Day 8: Undecided Day 9: Fly from Kochi to Mumbai Had 4 questions: a) Wasnt clear whether should try and pack one more location into the itin or stay longer at Munnar and Alleppey or even spend one day at Kochi. Periyar was an option, Waynad seemed too far. Also dont want it to become too taxing for parents ![]() b)Where should I stay between Alleppey and Kumarokam? Was leaning towards former, as seemed to have more acco options in mid budget range c) In either locations, any specific reccos on houseboat for an overnight trip. d)How can I arrange for Cab/taxi, which I intend taking for the trip. Know those are tons of questions, but would appreciate some of your inputs. thanks in advance. cheers.

I dont think so..Got a call frm a frnd in Cochin today who's there for his honeymoon and he said its pretty hot there so April would be more hot. Why dont you plan for north. If at all you want to move towards south Munnar + Kodaikanal would be a nice option. You could throw in a day at backwaters.

Alleppey would be better for stay. Lots of taxis are available. Your Hotel can arrange it for you too. Considering the weather, it would be better to stay in Munnar longer rather than pack more places. As for the houseboats, be at the Alleppey jetty by 9. That is when the boats from the previous day return. Check out the boats, talk to the outgoing passengers, negotiate, and then hire whichever boat you fancy. they are generally priced 6000 and upward.
