Hi, Try KPM residency near district hospital, Plkd. I have stayed there couple of days in business trips. In plght there isnt much to see except Palghat fort and Malampuzha Gardens. And Guruvayur is in Thrissur district and more than 90kms away from Palghat.

You can find beatiful nature in this area, there should be some threads about it as far as I remember. Just use the search on top in the right corner.

Nelliampathy is a hill station near palakkad , also try Silent valley national park for a great nature experience
