Munnar to Kumarakom, road condition?
Hi,
We would be traveling from Munnar to Kumarakom during our honeymoon trip. How is the drive from Munnar to Kumarakom? Any good eating place (preferably North Indian) on the way? Thanks, Kapil |

Hi Kapil,
I did it the other way around when I went for honeymoon in feb this year. I visited Kumarakom first and then Munnar. I first went to Kottayam from Kumarakom and then booked a taxi but that was really expensive . there they charge 10 rupees per km and both ways ,so effectively 20 rupees per km.I think you would do the same in reverse. first 50 kms from munnar would be scenic and then almost a flat land. but overall you would like the trip. amit |

Thanks for your replies.
I have booked my travel through a tour operator including transportation by car. Can we get good north indian/continental food on the way and at Munnar? Thanks, Kapil |

well, almost all the good hotels in munnar and kumarakom would have both north as well as south indian dishes in their menu.We never had any food problem because good hotels serve people from far away places so they have to cater to different tastes. As I was looking for south indian dishes also ,so there was no problem. Specially I enjoyed mix veg uttapam. They really cook it very well.
have a nice journey and enjoy your time. There is no other place like munnar. amit |

all the good 4-5 starts should have a north indian/continental.
the hotel(dont remember the name) where is stayed when i first went there had an north indian restaurant and no south indian restaurant. Harita should know better than me but when i was there, most of the people suggested me that i drive via cochin. |
