| Month too Long?? Im just about to book! I am wondering if a month is "too long" Im lucky to be staying at a friends house in Kerala and I am just wondering if staying for a months period is overstaying my welcome? Of course they say no and since its my dream they say stay as long as want.........But is 3 weeks more appropriate? Thanks!! |

| Don't know you; don't know your friends... unanswerable. Old saying, attributed, like many of its kind, to the Chinese: Guests are like fish. After three days they begin to smell. |

| this is Brad. He's cute | I don't know how close etc. you are, but if I had a close friend to stay, a week would be probably my limit, but I find crowds difficult, and i have an over zealous sense of nesting. ![]() I'm just thinking, how long would YOU have people to stay for, before they became a job.?

| If a) I had the room b) they were entirely independent c) they cooked for me on a regular basis (or some other kindness!) No problem for a month ... After that, I guess I'd be thinking of charging them rent. But that's just my opinion. (ooh, looks like my 1000th post) |

| You will not be staying put at your friend's house every night for a month will you, ivoryempress? Surely you would like to explore around, for instance, go up the hills into the Western Ghats, cross over into Tamil Nadu to visit some of the temples, etc? I'd suggest staying for one week at your welcome address, then go off alone for some sightseeing, then go back again to base. It would give everyone the best of both worlds. (Oh, yes, and do cook a meal for your hosts at some point! Or take them out somewhere really good.) ![]()

| I am curious about your hosts. I suppose they are north of Cochin. |
