iiiiiiiiiiiiiiiihhhhhhhhhhhh !!!!!!!
The M.S. Vrinda houseboat looks awful This is definitively a no-no I've done a backwater tour with a traditional houseboat last year. I can't remember the price but I'm sure it was much much cheaper. |

Agrees. Vrinda looks aweful. A painted boat in the backwaters.
Noooooooooooooooooooo.... Who in the right mind would pay $1250 for 4 days ? 2 days at Coconut Lagoon and two days in a traditional houseboat normally costs around $320. All meals included. Better yet, you dont have to share the boat with anyone. |

It always puzzles me too why this kind of holiday is so expensive.
India has cheap food, cheap labour, cheap building costs yet the prices charged are high. Do people actually pay these prices or can you bargain down from the asking price?

hey, one customer per month and you net a profit!
no customers and you write off a fortune in taxes! What's not to like? and that is why the help is so surly in these kind of venues. They aren't used to actually havbing to work, and the people they take care of are Great Gatsby types for whom everything is a commodity. Unless they are desi, GG types usually are 2 weeks and gone forever, back to resorts in resortier places.
