Kochi-Munnar -Kumarakom-Kochi
I am planning a trip with my family includes 4 adults, 2 kids and a baby to kerala this december for 5nights. We will be flying in from Mumbai to Kochi and need some advice on planning my trip includeing hotels, car rental and places to see.
The current plan I have is 1 night kochi, 2 nights munnar, 1 night kumarakom and then one night in the house boats (i assume the kids will love that). Also any worry of mosquito bites especially in the backwates, since we have small kids on the trip. |

Hi & Welcome to IM,
Your plan looks good. You will definetly need Insect repellent. And as Allways with Water & children, keep a close eye on them. vandy ![]() |

I wsa in the area last Deceber and yes, yo defintely need insect repellant.
Many, many tour companies in the area can book a trip for you with driver, hotel, and houseboat. But it sounds like you want to rent your own car? Perhaps a Tempo Traveler if you want more room for your family. You can check the KTDC site for info where people write in with their desired itinerary, and assorted compoanies make suggestions. I'm sure they can include the price of a rental car in their package. I had a good experience with Indianpanorama aka South Tourism/ Window to the World. They have a Kochi office, telephone 484 2323156 . That office was very helpful assisting a fellow travelerpromptly and with excellent information. |
