If we're lucky it may well be raining here in Chennai at that time...

Kerala usually gets rain in October, but it is not as much as in June/July, so I wouldn't worry. Generally there is a lot of rain in Kerala, that's why it is so green

Kerala is very rainy in October-the retreating monsoon which brings the rain to Chennai that Nick-H is looking forward to gives Kerala another soaking.
Thiruvananthapuram ,on average, has 281.7 mm of rain in October according to INDIA METEOROLOGICAL DEPARTMENT http://www.imd.gov.in/main_new.htm |

Kerala in October
Have been twice to Kerala in the month of October and
encountered not much rain really, rained continually for one day only and that wasn't very heavy, couple of times rained lightly in the evening. then again weather in the tropics is unpredictable, except for June,July & August. Rgds & Happy Travelling Vandy ![]() |

It is your goodluck if you reach Kerala without rain. Better travel Hampi after Goa. Goa is beautiful in mansoon but be sure that you are not taking excessive risk in the turbulent sea. From Goa you can have night bus for hospet. For details of Hampi tour (I visited at August 2008) you can have it from my blog: dhimandas.blogspot.com (Post of August 2008)
