Kerala trip - optimum cost
Kerala trip - optimum cost
Hello All,
I have planned a trip to Munnar and Allepey, from 1-4 March 2012. I am returning on 4th March from allepey. My tour operator has given me a quote of 17500 which includes :
1. Pick up at Kochi railway station transfer to Munnar.
2. 2 days stay and sight seeing at Munnar.
3. Transfer to Allepey on the 3rd day.
4. One night stay in Allepey.
The stay at Munnar is in a place called Misty mountains (valley view room) and lake Haven at Allepey, and I have been told that these come in somewhat nice hotel categories.
I have heard that most tours also include a 3-4 hour cruise in a houseboat (including lunch), which is not the case in my itinerary. I would like to know
1. Is the cost for the itinerary OK ?
2. How much does the houseboat trip cost ?
Please help me in deciding if this tour is too expensive against the facilities provided.
Thanks in advance
Ankan

The Overall price ain't too bad considering the tariff cost to stay at Misty Mountains, Here's a link with some reviews.

You may be able to get a half day Houseboat tour for approx,
3,500rps incl lunch. That is something you can arrange once you get to Allepey. If it's not in your budget then go for the Country Boat cruise, 3 to 4 hours is ample, approx 250-300rps per hour.
It may also be a good idea not to pay the total amount up front, maybe 50% to 60%.
