Kerala Suggestions

Hey all,

I will be going to Kerala this end of December. How many days should I spend there? Is 5 days good enough? Also, which areas in Kerala would you recommend?

Cheers!

What interests you - beaches ? Mountains ? Backwaters ? SPAs ? Temples ?

If you can let know your interests, then IMers might be in a better position to respond.

If beaches and backwaters are of interest to you, please do check out varkala, kovalam, cochin for the beaches...

And kumarakom, alleppey for the boat houses.

Some amount of research on the above places in indiamike will give you loads of information.

Is 5 days enough ? Obviously not....If that is what you have, then plan and make the most out of it.

You could check out my 1 week Kerala itinerary suggestions article for some ideas.

5 days isn't much, but is doable if you focus just on the backwaters and 1 beach (Marari is nearest for backwaters).

2 Nights at Munnar and 1 Night at House Boat

Munnar HOTEL LE-CELISTIUM - Breakfast and Dinner Included
House Boat All Meals Included

Please let me know if it is good, I am trying to low down budget upto 14000/- may be i can compromise in Hotel and Non A/C indiaca.

I saw LE-CELISTIUM website quotes 2500/- per day, Any decent hotel with 1000 - 1200/- perday would be good for me ?

Check out The Munnar Inn that has rooms for about Rs1200 per night or you could consider homestays which are much cheaper.
Up in the hills non A/c car would be fine as it is cool.

Send a message via Skype™ to lathish
Try negotiation.Tell them you dont need dinner.Mostly there are time frame when the dinner would be served and you dont want to reach back to hotel from your day trip just to have dinner.you can always opt for other places to eat in Munnar.there are plenty out there. Also tell them some other agency provided better rates like 13K etc. Tell them AC is not must but ask them to provide them AC car in case you need one and latter make a agreement to pay AC price per KM in case you feel hot while in car.Dec is usually good to travel around without AC
