Kerala October time

Hello, am going to be in Kerala (flying into Trivandrum) start of Oct from Dubai - just wondering what the hut prices will be like, as am backpacking, dont plan to book ahead just turn up and get a room (always been brilliant in Goa) - anyone any ideas? Also have no plans so which is the best beach area to go and chill before I head on. dont really wanna go anywhere where theres big hotel resorts if poss.

I don't know that Kerala does huts in the way that Goa does ---although I can't say for sure because I've never been to Goa.

But the two main beaches with plentiful accomodation, etc, that people seem to go for are Kovalam, which is just a few minutes from Trivandrum, and Varkala which is further away.

Suggest you take a cab or an auto to Kovalam, and do your thinking there!
