Kerala Itinerary Help

My friends and I are off to Kerala in November for 10 days, flying into Kochi and out of Thiruvanathpuram, and I'm trying to get a rough itinerary together. I think I'm maybe being a little ambitious with where I would like to go and need some help...

The main things we would like to do are:
See some beaches
Back waters/house boats
See some elephants
Maybe munnar?

This was my original plan of attack though I think it needs some serious revising!

Cochin Munnar
Periyarti
Allepy house boat to Kollum
Kollum-Varkala
Varkala - Kovalam
Kovalum – Thiruvanathpuram

welcome to India. 10 days for kerala will be good. You can fulfill your choosiest destinations too.

My suggestion:

Cochi - 2days (visit fort cochi, Cherai)
Munnar (130km) - 2 days. Munner will be a bit colder than other places in kerala... Or I can say Munnar will not be hot
Thekkady- (106km)1 day. Book Pariyar trip in advance.
Thekkady to Kottyam - (115km) can book House boat here for Alleppy. Or 4hrs boat ride to Alleppy. 1 day.
Alleppy to Kollam - can go by boat or road. 1 day.
Kollam to varkhala- Nice beach to spend some more time. think.
Varkhala to Kovalam/Thirubanantapuram (Thiru to Kovalam 14km) So stay at Kovalam. You can reach airport easily.

Do not miss the Athirapalli falls, one of the most beautiful place for nature lovers. Its a two hour ride from Kochi.
