Kerala - end of dec
hello
Were a young couple going on our first (nine week) trip across india, arriving in cochin on 29th of december. Were intrested in anykind of suggestions about a nice budget guesthouse/hotel in, or around cochin for about 4-5 days to acclimatize and spend the new year. ( we dont mind making an additional day trip, doesnt have to be cochin) Do we need to book this as soon as possible considering the new year and high season? thanks Mod note : Welcome to Indiamike. I like to stay at Hotel Excellency in Cochin - not a great restaurant but I like the rooms, the shower, and the people who run it. It's very central so you could also look around for something else if you wanted to change. You might like to be in Fort Cochin though, especially if you want to run into other foreigners.
The info about the Beena Homestay is here..looks good.. http://www.indiamike.com/india-hotel...-cochin-h4040/ |

Book soon if you are going to stay at Beena Homestay.
I already tried to book for the 20th December, and they were already booked out then. You might have more luck a little later in the month. |

Thank you all for your quick replies.
We quickly jumped into action an booked a room at durbar residency for a first couple of days in ernakulam it had good reviews and a normal price regarding high season. Were now looking ahead where to sleep, how to reach certain places, so this was just one of the questions asked as we will stay in the south for 3-4 weeks thanks again DeTa |
