kATHAKALI PERFORMANCE
I'll be in Kochin for one night end of Feb. Recommendations of which performance to choice. I'll probably want one on the Fort Cochin side as that is where I'll be staying for the night. The Kerala Lahalali Center and the Art Kerala sounded interesting. Will it be possible to catch a sunset cruise b4 the performance? Replies appreciated. Thanx in advance!!

tourist demo performances are somewhat unsatisfactory ---but at least, if you never saw one before you won't mind it being just the same as the last six you did see! I've never yet made it to a proper all-night temple performance, but I've seen far better in London than I have in Kerala hotels/cultural centres.
Advantage is you can go early and watch the amazing makeup being done. Hey! You're only there for one night? Then it is probably the best you can do so go for it! |
