Jeevan beach resort

Hi, the better half and i are off to Kovalam in Feb 08 staying at the Jeevan, was wondering if anybody out there has stayed at this hotel and could tell us anything about it. Also it's our first visit to Kerala any info on the area would be good likewise the best trips and best places to visit. we've been to Goa before and have read that Kerala is not quite as touristy
thanks in advance,
Mick+Jinny

Sorry to disapoint you, but you need to know, Kovalam is very touristy.

However, I loved it, and didn't feel like a walking ATM (like I did in Calangute last year), the beaches were better than those I've seen in Goa, but there's a bit of a pull in the water, so be careful.

Another however, I was in Kovalam about 6 years ago, so things may have changed.

The following is an old post, but you may still find some of it useful.

Kovalam.

Smile Jeevan beach resort

hi all,

well Jeevan is right on the sea front with lots of restaurants on the doorstep, along with shops, money change, internet, etc etc. Jeevan has a small pool and is known as a clean place to stay. hope you enjoy your stay there. there are also a number of travel agents and they can advise on places to visit, but be prepared to haggle on the price. There are various places to visit in Trivandrum and you could visit the wooden temple, the local and major backwaters are just a couple of suggestions. do a bit more research on India Mike and you will find lots of places to visit. hope this helps
