| Itinerary help for Kerala trip Hi Everyone, I would require some help with my itinerary for my Kerala trip for 2 person. Please advice on budget accomodations and travel availablity within the following places 02-March-12 - Reaching Chalakudi early morning for Athirapally falls and leave for Munnar in the evening and night stay. 03-March-12 - Sightsee in Munnar the whole day and night stay again 04-March-12 - Leave Munnar in the morning for Thekkady 04-March-12 - Reach Thekkady and night stay 05-March-12- Leave for Alleppey in the morning and night stay either in Allepey or leave for Cochin in the evening 04-March-12 - Reach Cochin in the morning if night stayed in Alleppey and leave for kochi airport at noon. Please advice regarding the availability of public transport connecting Chalakudi to Athirapally falls and then Athirapally falls to Munnar. We have a budget of 8K per person... Would that be enough to cover these 5 days? We are also interested in a country boat ride while in Allepey and an elephant ride while in Thekkady. Thanks in advance... ![]() | |

| Senior Member | The budget should suffice for the itinerary. Moreover, I would like to suggest 2 days in Munnar instead of one. Happy travelling!!

| As a thumb rule consider Rs.2500/- per day for home stay + food for 2 + tourist taxi @ Rs.9/- per km non a c. so the budget of Rs.16000/- is OK. You may check about public transport locally if available you can save few thousand rupees and consider them bonus. However govt. buses are not good and punctual ! | Hi, There are numerous buses from Chalakudy to Athirapally water falls. KSRTC numbers are low in this route. Go to Chalakudy private bustand. You expect a bus in every 20 mnts from the private busstand. There are no direct buses from Athirapally to Munnar. You have to come back to Chalakudy KSRTC bustand. There is a KSRTC town to town bus from Chalakudy to Munnar at about 5 30 PM. Chalakudy KSRTC contact number 0480 2701638 | |

| As you have a plane to catch at the end of your trip, I suggest you get a car and driver for your trip. That way you will see what you want to see and have the services of the car whilst in Munnar also you can plan a lot better. vandy ![]() | |
