|  italian(?)surnames in Wayanad does someone know why in Wayanad district many people have surnames like italian people?I don't remember exactly,it was like Vermicelli or something similar.. |

| Portuguese influences? Just a guess. ps http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_Kerala Would seem to support this; no mention of Italians, I think, but there may of course have been a few.
