| info on some villages in kerala requested Hello We're planning a trip in Kerala in the end of March. Since my sister's roots lie in Kerala and I am fosterparent of a girl over there we want to make some visits to some of the smaller villages. For now I am planning the trip on my own and I have found a lot of info, not in the least on IM. It seems difficult to find info on the smaller villages though. If anyone knows anything about Paduapuram and / or Poovathodu, give a yell. Anything (where, how to get there, what to see/do,...) will do. Thanks! Jeroen |

Paduapuram is in Ernakulam District, near Angamali. Angamali is 35 km north of Kochi, and just north of Cochin International Airport. It shouldn't be a problem getting to Angamali by bus; it is on the main highway going north, and buses from Kochi to, for instance, Thrissur, but many other northern locations in Kerala, will be passing through Angamali. From there it should be relatively easy to get a rickshaw to Paduapuram (though I can't be certain of this). The easiest way to get to Poovathodu, if you are in Kochi, would be to get a bus to Todupuzha (straight east), and then find a bus that travels south to Pala in Kottayam District. From there it should be possible to get a rickshaw for the remaining 10 km to Poovathodu. Sorry that it isn't of much help. Maybe you will be able to get more information from locals near the locations. Good luck. | |
