How to get from Cochin - Munnar on a shoestring?

Hello,

I am hoping someone will be able to give me some advice – we are landing in Cochin on the 19th December… what is the easiest/cheapest way for us (2 people) to travel up to Munnar for 2-3 nights. We do not have a car, but from what I am reading there is no way of getting out of hiring a driver….?? Or could we hire a car ourselves (no driver)?

Most likely will want to come back to Alleppey.

It looks like prices go up hugely on the 21st December, so any cheap cheap accom suggestions would be great as well. I can’t seem to find any.

Thanks!

The Cheapest way would be a KSRTC bus from Cochin to Munnar.
You can use makemytrip.com or cleartrip.com to search for quotes available for various places.

Yup there are many public/private transport buses that run between Cochin and Munnar. Quite frequent as well. There are busses from the South Railway station or also from the KSRTC bus stand located on Rajaji Rd Its safest to make the trip during day time. Enjoy your trip!
