Hotels In Kerala: Local Contacts for Good Prices?

Hi: Just reading the thread from a couple of years ago about local, family run agencies that can give below advertised deals on hotels. Does any one have that contact information any more?

There are two of us, we will be in Kerala late March early April next year (2008) -- not sure yet which cities as we are still working that out. We will be taking a few day boat ride and also want to do some beach time.

We are looking to the mid to upper mid price range, but the "palace for 3500 rupees" mentioned in the 2005 post sounds good to me!
