Hotel near airport or train station Cochin

Can anyone suggest a hotel close to the airport or train station in Cochin, I arrive late in the evening by train and have an early morning flight back to Uk and just want to get a nights sleep without having to trapse around looking for a clean bed, thanksx

The airport at Kochi is actually quite far outside the city. Unless you have a pressing need to be near the airport, I wouldn't stay there. Most of the hotels in Fort Kochi and Ernakulam probably can arrange a taxi to get you to the airport. It's about a 40-45 minute drive, but there's a good highway. The hard part is getting out to the highway.

As for the train station, it's a short rickshaw ride from most of the nice hotels along the main shopping streets in Ernakulam. Getting there from Fort Kochi is a little more complicated. I don't recall seeing any hotels right around the Ernakulam station: it's not really central to the business district, although walkable without all your kit. From the waterfront, though, it's a very short rickshaw ride.

There are numerous cheap guesthouses near both stations for Ernakulum, inc. directly across from Ern Jn. Google earth a bit and for guest house names.
