Honeymoon Trip - Kerala - 6th March 2009

Hi All,

We are planning to go to kerala on our Honeymoon from 6th March to 14th March 2009.

1. Please suggest me, should I book a tour through some travels or finalize my itenary and book respective hotels myself. Anyone having good experience of any package travel, please help me.
2. Please suggest March is good time to visit Kerala for honeymoon or will I look for some other place.

Also please help me in finalizing my Itinerary:
Munnar 2 Nights
Thekkady(Periyar) 1 Night
Kumarakom 1 Night
Alleppey(Houseboat) 1 Night
Kovalam 2 Nights
I want to spend very less time in travelling.

Thanks

March is quite warm but Munnar will be lovely as it will be spring time in the mountains. Perhaps you could spend more days here and less at the beach.

I think Kerala is perfect for a honeymoon, and March is not sooo warm, it is still acceptable.

I suggest you to add VARKALA BEACH into your programme. Its the best place to visit and very lonely place so you enjoy it.its reall unexplored beach.

Does 40K include flights? If you post on the message board of Keralatourism.org with your e mail address, you will be contacted by every local tour operator with competitive quotes, so you can get a reasonable idea of costs from there.

Weather in March: Hill stations / Plantations / Periyar - Perfect, cool at night;
Beaches and Backwaters: 30-35C and humid, breezy by the sea shore and pleasant in the shade. Mornings and evenings will be pleasant.

Kerala is a lovely place to visit. As it is your honeymoon, perhaps you could increase your stay at a few select destinations from your list, rather than cram it all in on this trip. You can always return later for a more sightseeing oriented visit.

As snonymous suggested earlier, it might be a good idea to cut down on the number of locations and stick more to the cooler and pleasant hilly parts. Unless you really want to spend some time at the beach, my suggestion would be stick to Munnar,Thekkady and then a houseboat trip from Alleppey. If you do want a beach in that itinerary, Varkala would be a better option than Kovalam.

this itenary sounds too bad to me..it not bcoz of which place you want to go .. but i see that all the days u will just travel . .. travel and more travel.. which may spoil ur days and nights too..

better go to one or two places only and enjoy your honeymoon with your spouse

Varkala would be a better beach option than Kovalam. It's closer to Allepey (less travelling) and watching the sunset from the cliff is great.

your itinerary is ideal. Im March, you could expect fine climate. Not very hot. An ideal time for hill stations like Munnar and Periyar. With 40 K exclusing flights is a good budget for honeymoon.

Kerala is always hot and humid, compared to North India. It's a tropical climate! (at least the lowlands)

From the beauty of its nature, it would be my perfect honeymoon destination, combined with a quite relaxed itinerary and maybe a hillstation for some cooler moments. But that's my personal choice, and I am not Indian and therefore maybe more tolerant to heat
