Honeymoon plans

Dear Friends,

This is my first post to IndiaMike. Its a great forum. I am planning to travel to Kerala for my Honeymoon in the first week of February. I am arriving at Kochi airport. I have 7 days and i plan to travel to Kumarakom and Munnar only. I have done some search for accommodation in both places and I need your advise for

1. Any experiences for Cocobay Resort/ illikkalamlake resort ? Any other suggestions ?
2. Olive brook in Munnar
3. I would like to stay in houseboat for 24 hours in Kumarakom. Which company offers good services and what route should i take.
4. How should i split the trip between Munnar and Kumarakom.

If it were my honeymoon, I'd go for two nights on the houseboat. Romantic, beautiful scenery, relaxing.

If you go directly to Kumarakom, you can easily take off for a backwaters trip towards Quillon. Avoid trips "around the lake". Going south towards Quillon takes you through the smaller canals where you will see more rural life up close and personal. You won't be able to see much of anything if you're just cruising around the lake. INSIST on the trip south, ok?

I believe the resorts you have mentioned in Kumarakom have their own houseboats, check out what they can offer you as a part of your honeymoon package!

I reviewed Olive Brook in Munnar in the Hotel Listings section....so you already have my opinion about them.

I would get a car/driver arranged from the resort in Kumarakom to take you up to Munnar (about a four to five hour drive through beautiful scenery) and then drive you straight from there to the airport in Cochin.
