Wink hi,trip to kerala???

I am planning a trip to kerala during year-end/new-years.we are a couple with 2 small kids. Can any1 suggest about:-

1)i have been to a lot of hill-stations,does munnar offer anything different?

2)i have 7 nights,which all should i cover/skip-munnar,thekkady/periyar,kumarakom,allepey,thir uvananthpuram,kovalam,cochin?

3)good hotels/travel-agents with contact-details.

4)About kumarakom is it worth spending so much, and ,also about houseboat experiences?

5)also how to plan the trip i.e cochin to munnar then where-on?

How old are your kids?

They might enjoy elephant rides, boat rides, splashing around at the beach, that sort of stuff - rather than scenery.

Since you have just seven days to hand, perhaps you should stick to a couple of places instead of all that travel from point to point. Especially with small children in tow.

Post on the message board of keralatourism.org with your return e mail address and several Kerala based travel agents will contact you with competitive quotes and customised itineraries according to your preference.

Check the hotels section here for reviews.

Hi Ravi,

Just a suggestion why dont u go to munnar directly from ernakulam then to thekkady/periyar and come straight to alleppy. One night in alleppy(house boat) is enough there is nothing else there.Yes house boat is a must! From alleppy come to trivandrum which is 3nhalf hr journey. In trivandrum spend a day at kovalam beach and one day for visiting ZOO and Museum. One night in periyar and two nights in munnar is good enough.
Hope this might help to plan your trip.

I agree with VJRD re Going to Munnar first then Thekady and then
to Allepey Backwaters.

Not sure about going ALL the way downt to Kovalam when there is
a Nice Quiet Beach at Allepey, this will also allow you to have an
an extra day in Cochin and possibly visit Fort Kochi. You may want
to also incorporate your spare day in Cochin Area with a Morning
visit to Kodanand and let the kids help wash the elephants, you
can then visit Fort Kochi in the afternoon for a few hours.

Happy & Safe Travels
