Help me

Hello everybody

I am basically from Mangalore and would like to travel to kumarakkom (Golden waters, kumarakkom)

But i am confused as to how to travel.

I dont know much abt the route.. so can u please help me out..

1. If i travel by train, i can reach cochin, kottayam or alleppy...from where, i can go to the resort..
Can some one tell me what is the distance from alleppy to kumarakkom?

2.I intend to stay in this resort for 3 days and then travel to Munnar(i heard its abt 130-150kms) so what would be the best means of transport..? taxi?(what would be the fare...)

3. what is the best means of travel from Munnar to cochin airport..how much distance etc..

hope i am making my doubts clear.

Thank you

Raj

Kumarakom

Mangalore to Kottayam Railway station by train . Overnight mangalore trivandrum train is a good option .From Kottayam railway station resorts in Kumarakom will be in a distance of 12 to 16 kms .Most resorts could offer you a Taci pick up . Kumarakom to Allepey day vist boats are available in season . Or you can take a taxi . Kumarakom to Munnar an intersting taxi way is Kumarakom ---Vaikom --- Koothattukulam ----Vazhakulam --- Kaloor ---OOnnukallu--- Adimali --- Munnar. In this route you avoid all high traffic roads and see th real kerala villages and life. Also from Munnar --- Kothamangalam --- Perunbavoor --- Kalady --- Airport by taxi will be the best option .

On Kumarakom look at the website www.kumarakomtourism.org
though a private site it is informative

it depends

which month you are planning
and with whom you are planning
are kids and family members involved
their likes
and the availability of the places
