Has anyone stayed at .........

Looking to organise modest priced accom via internet ....and of course its the expensive places that have the detailed websites!

If anyone has any comments on Ayurdara ayurvedic center, Vypeen Island, Delight Hotel Cochin, Seamens Village Cherai Beach, Mayura River View, Srirangapatnam, and Costa Malabari near Kannur .....I'd be glad to hear them!

I have booked myself and my husband into Costa Malabari near Kannur in February based on the very good feedback I read on it on Indiamike and in a guide book (Rough Guide, I think).

how to book?

Thanks for reply. The place looks lovely but how did you book? I completed the reservation form on their website, but have not had anything confirming or otherwise the booking. I want to stay there the last week in January. Ive just sent a second email chasing it up.

Ive also had no reply from all the other accommodation I emailed making reservations (except the Ayurveda center) .......true its just a few days since I emailed but I expected replies to be immediate (is that overly optimistic of me?)

It seems crazy to waste alot of money making international phone calls to chase them up when they all have email addresses .......... but I'm wondering if they are full up for my dates and simply not bothering to reply ... in which case I need to look for alternative accom.

Here is the website that I booked Costa Malabari through. They have always returned my emails within 24 hours.

I've been to Ayurdara on Vypeen Island - only for a few days but it was excellent. Didn't especially like the 'tie in' they have with the accommodation - can remember the place but the food is Ayurvedic and the DR from Ayurdara specifies to them what you should have to eat. Ayurdara is the home of Dr Subash and his wife. Very lovely people - overlooking the water. Mrs Subash gave me some excellent treatments and I felt like they were really caring professionals. They send a rickshaw to pick you up from the accommodation.

They do encourage you to spend over a week there if possible to get the benefits of Ayurveda.

Enjoy

Thanks Dinah. I had thought that the Ayurveda center and accommodation were all in the same building, as there was no mention of separate accom ...hmm. What was the problem with the accom?

Ive had a quick look at your website ....see you were there in January also. How were temperatures and mosquitoes? Does the accommodation have any protection (window nets etc) against mossies? Is there anywhere nearby thats nice for swimming? ...........or maybe the treatment schedule doesnt allow for this?

My big problem is also insomnia ......... so its good to know it helped you.
