Good homestay in Wayanad?
Good homestay in Wayanad?
Hi Indiamikers,
I am planning to go to Wayanad for 3-4 days in 2nd/3rd Week of June with my wife. We want to have a very relaxed trip instead of trying to visit so many places.
Can someone please suggest an excellent home stay very close to nature, tea/coffee plantations. We don't need very fancy accommodation, rather comfortable, peaceful and very very close to nature (especially if its between tea/coffee plantation, that would really be great. Our budget is about max Rs. 3000 per day.
Thanks

I stayed at The Wynberg Resort two years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. There are about 9 huts in a secluded estate. Vanchy, the owner, has a 99 acre estate with mixed crops and he is a keen bird watcher and photographer He took us on a walking tour of the estate which was very interesting. The food was excellent and the staff very helpful. We paid about Rs2000 per night per room including full board which I thought was a bargain.

Hi,
We were in Wayanad last November and stayed at a lovely homestay, for 5 days, called Varnam, and paid Rp2,000 per night. It's right in the middle of the rice paddies and amongst the plantations. The local tribe villages are nearby. It was very hospitable and relaxing, plus the food was fantastic and plentiful. I would highly recommend it

But don't just take my word for it - check out the other reviews on TA, it's ranked number 1

Enjoy your trip

A place I found for a trip to the Wayanad was Ente Veedu Homestay. It was a couple yrs ago. I did lots of research and emails.
Alas, the trip itinerary changed, so i dint get there...yet,
WHEN i get back to Kerala, this is the first one I'll write to , hoping for availability.

I can second Clive on this. We stayed a few years back and found Wynberg to be excellent. Vanchy is an excellent host and takes personal care of his guests in drawing up plans for the day, providing driving directions, and be available for any help. Similar Threads
