From which bus stand in Trivandrum the local buses go to the airport? Rough Guide gives me City bus station but I am still not sure. I have been asking around but no sure information. One says one thng the other the other. From the bus station near the railway station (KSTRC bus stand) they told me that it goes from platform 9 and every 45 minutes.
Anyone knows? |

I would say that buses should be last thing on your mind to go to the Airport...
I have been to Trivandrum however still am not much sure about the Geography of the place, but generally airports are on outskirts of city and bus routes are not very common there... |

Buses are ok here, I have used them several times so that is not an issue. I know there is a special airport bus and a usual loacal bus (no.14 but there are no numbers on the buses!) that are serving the airport. I just wanted to know from which bus stand they depart (and what time), that is it.

hey,
it is better to just take a rickshaw than to go thru the hassle of waiting and jumping into local buses and then having to cart your luggage all the way across..sorry about that...have a nice fly. |

I would give my bet on the bus from city bus station. There are many busses from this stop which goes to Shankhumugham beach through airport. It was the first bus platform (begining) if you approach from the padmanabhaswamy temple and take a left into the bus station. Over the years, it might have changed.. but I am rather sure that it has not!
On the other hand, trivandrum airport is very close to the city unlike other cities where it is in the outskirts. I recommend you to check with a couple of auto drivers before you hop into the bus, you might be just surprised to see how cheap it is. My best guess is autorickshaw fare would be Rs30-45 from the city bus station or Padmananbhaswami temple!

I remember you could get to Shankhumugham Beach by city bus. The Airport is just one stop (or two) before the beach.
