Festivals in Kerala Jan/Feb 2012?

Hi there,

I am going to be in Kerala late January, early February. I have been reading about the Ernakulathappan Utsavam Festival. Apparently its an 8 day festival held in Kochi, and on the 8th day there is a procession of 15 decorated elephants, fireworks and music at the Shiva Temple, Ernakulam, Kochi(which I really want to see!)

Can some one please help me if they know the dates of this festival, I am currently using an old LP guide book, and cannot find any 2012 festival guides online.

Thanks so much, do they still do the procession of the elephants on the last day? I assume its still an 8 day festival as I read from my old LP guide?

Late Jan / early feb is full of temple festivals with decorated elephants all around Trichur.

yes, procession is done on 8th day. the temple festival itinary booklet is under print as of yesterday ( i put an advertisment in it) shall post once the exact dates are available, mostly in a week or so. gud day
