Cochin to Nileshwar
Hello Indiamike!
I will be heading from Cochin to Nileswaram, at the very end of July. I must take the monsoon into consideration. With the monsoon I've learned comes extra delays. True? Can anyone offer advice on the best way to do this? Overnight train? Bus? And how long do you think it'd take by bus? Anyone ever done this particular trip? Thank you for any help or advice ![]() -Tim |

Train is best, bus would take forever, and wouldn't be very pleasant. The best train would be Parasuram Express, which leaves Ernakulam Town around 11-ish. You can see a lot of Kerala if you catch that train. It is usually full, so you may need to book in advance. If you can't get tickets for it, a good option would be going to Shornur by Venad Express (leaves Ernakulam around 10) and catching the Link Express from there.
The other option is a night train, I think there are two, Malabar Express and another Tvm-Mangalore express. Just saw your other post, saying that your friend lives 1 hour from Nileshwar. Parasuram Express is supposed to reach Nileshwar by around 7 (http://indiarailinfo.com/train/1229/59/1470), but it is usually late by the time it reaches that part of Kerala. So you may have trouble getting a bus to your final destination. Last edited by mazha : Jul 2nd, 2009 at 04:22. Reason: Added info on train timing |
