Cherai Beach nr Cochin

I am wanting to stay on Cherai Beach for 2 or 3 nights, so I can have the best of both worlds of beach and city within fairly close proximity.

I have narrowed my accomodation down to two options which are the Amaravathy Resort and Kadalkkara Resort. The photo's on the websites seem to show a nice location, and the prices seem reasonable approx 750r's. I just can't seem to find much feedback on either of them. Does anyone out there have info or heard any reviews of either of them.

thanks

Hello iggylad,

How was your stay at Cherai.. I am planning a honeymoon there. Is is worth it. How about the cost. any other things you would want to suggest a newly wed couple can do there.

You started this thread more than a month ago, not sure whether too late for you my answer here: i have stayed once at Karakkal resort.
http://www.kadalkkaralakeresorts.com/location.htm

The rooms and the view is fine, except that it looks out on a back-water lake which can be a bit smelly from sewage sometimes. The restaurant is reasonably good. It is also right next to the connecting road, and you do get some street noise, even though not much, esp on weekends when buses come from Cochin with lots of people. You can also pay less, like around 450 Rupees for a downstairs. the upper rooms are a bit louder as I found but have a better view. They do not have many rooms, so there should not be much noise from other guests. For the 450 Rs tariff it is really very worthwhile. If you make a reservation ask for a 450 Rupees one a little more away from the street.
