hey i have been to both places.Going to coorg in jan is gr8 man.In coorg there not much to see though
1)Namdroling monastery ,tibetian monatery.look at these photos
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...0&id=745283690
2)dubare elephant training camp
http://www.facebook.com/album.php?ai...2&id=745283690
3)then there is brahmandala, talacauvery, abbey falls(could be fun if theres is lot of water) and raja seat (go around 6 pm there is musical fountain)
3)quite far away from madikeri (the dist capital), is kutta.actually you have to take acab i guess as there is not such great bus facility from madikeri or from mysore to kuta.you can see irrupu falls and nagerhole game sanctuary there.Ideal thing is to stay in both places .ie.madikeri and nagerhole as you cant travel easily between them.I didnt visit Nagerhole but from post on forums you can decide how good the place is.(pretty good.few sightings of tiger has been reported) .

In Munnar:
there is
lots of falls.
eravikulam national park.
anaimudi highest peak in kerala.
chinnar wildlife sanctuary.
pothamedu.(Top station)
gundala lake.

mattupatty dam.
tea estates.

I did lot of trekking in munnar and you might not see tourist spots in the photos. but i can assure the weather was damn good when i visited in december.pleasant during day and chilly during night.
