Any solo travelers in Munnar on oct 2 weekend?

Hello IMers,

I am planning a trip to Munnar during the oct 2-4 long weekend and would like to know if there might be any other solo travelers interested in meeting up for short treks/hikes.

Something about me and the trip: I am 22, male, Indian, working in Chennai, a bit laid back, love to travel a lot and explore places. I am planning to ride a lot in this trip (most probably would be getting my motorcycle there or will hire one in the town) and also try out short hikes/treks in scenic spots like anamudi, etc if there are like-minded travelers to give company.

Hey Sharan,

Are motorcycles available on rent in Kerala(Ernakulam/Kochi)?

Hi,

check out this site http://www.rentabikecochin.com/.

Also browse through the Kerala forum. I have heard that there are quite a lot of shops in Kochi that rent out bikes for a few hours to few days.

Just curious as where you want to do trekking?

Check out Pambadum Shola National Park (near Top Station) for trekking. Go as early as possible. Last week, I wanted to enter Eravikulam NP (not in the tourist area where the vans go, but in the core/buffer area) but the wildlife warden (Kerala Forest dep., Munnar) denied me permission.

Hi, I returned from Munnar today morning. Unfortunately, it was raining through out the day. Eravikulam was in fact closed due to heavy rains in those parts. I did manage to ride until top station but did not set out for the trek for the same reasons.
