hi..
We are planning to visit kerala this september. I am searching for packages to visit munnar, thekkady and allepy houseboat.
For 4N/5D stay..Iris holidays have given a package of 40K for 5 people,with
1. 3star accommodation + breakfast
2. vehicle (a/c) for pickup/drop and sight seeing.
3. a/c houseboat
Any reviews on Iris Holidays? Is it a good deal?
Please suggest if there are any other reliable tour operators.

Can't help with Iris Holidays, but the price they have quoted seems reasonable for 5 persons.

I have seen the same quote for just 2 persons.

The weather will be comfortable, not too cold and everything will be green after monsoons and personally I enjoy this weather. You should not miss the waterfalls on the way to Munnar as well which will be full after the rains in hills. There is very less possibility of heavy rains or landslides but if you are unlucky on the day of sightseeing then it may rain.

One of my office colleagues who is a trekking partner have used Iris Holidays previously for his honeymoon in Kerala. His experience was good and he has recommended them to few of us. You should go ahead if the package suit your requirements

I just returned from my vacation in Kerala. The trip was for 7 nights/ 8 days and was organized by Iris Holidays Cochin.

The trip covered 2 days Munnar, 2 days Thekkady, 1 day backwater resort, 2 days Kovalam and , 1 day Houseboat and last day Kochi sightseeing in 4 star/ luxury package.

My general comments:

- Pre-trip communication was excellent, the best among all tour operators we interacted with including big ones like makemytrip and Yatra. The package detailed out hotels at each places with their websites and photos of rooms that I would stay in

- Once payment was done, they mailed me the Hotel Vouchers and the payment receipt the next day and told me that they will give the prinouts on arrival. They called me tow days prior to my arrival to collect my travel details and gave me the no of driver and customer care staff who will receive me.

- When I reached Kochi airport, their employee met me and politely introduced me to the driver and provided me with the actual copies of hotel vouchers and payment receipt

- Hotel quality was very consistent and the rooms matched with images that they provided in the packages. They had told me about the bad roads to Camp Noel in advance and that the beach is Udaya Samudra was slightly far from hotel and everything turned out exactly as it is. They upgraded my room in Citrus Hotel in Alleppey free of charge

- Houseboat was very good with clean bed, linen and an extremely clean toilet, separate shower area and a glass cabin with TV and much above my expectations, The bedroom had a glass window facing backwaters and it was like a television screen. I booked premium AC boat and specifically asked for the good quality boat and they gave me a luxury one which was available which they had promised that they will give if there was no booking

- Driver and the car were good, driver was able to communicate well in English and Hindi

One of the things that I would have not opted for was staying in Camp Noel. Iris Holidays had told us that it is far from Munnar and it will be worth the visit only if we are staying there for 3 days and they were right and it was a honest advice I feel, when I look back which we should have listened to but we went with the ratings and reviews in tripadvisor. It is not that there is anything bad with the resort but travel time is too much as the tour operator had told and the road to the hotel through estate was really bad.

Needless to say, the weather was awesome throughout the trip and we truly enjoyed the trip.We would certainly recommend the services of Iris Holidays if you are planning to travel Kerala.
