ADVICE NEEDED, 2 DAYS in KERALA
HI everyone,
we are from glasgow. We are a newly married couple. This is our first time to india. we need a bit of advice.we will be arriving in cochin on Sunday Morning 9am(18th Oct) and we will be departing for Chennai on tuesday morning(20th). I have seen a lot of advertisements about kumarakom and alleppey on the net. We are not sure wer to visit kumarakom or alleppey. what one is closer to cochin airport. we want to feel the experience of a house boat. Our neighbours who visited kerala few years ago has advised not to book on the internet as it is expensive compared to book upfront. we dont want to rely on just 1 persons advice. Is it better to book the house boats online or is it advisable to check it out after we reach kerala. We just need a nice and honemoon experience with some privacy. Also is there any beach in kumarkom? wer couples can relax? Can everyone please advice us what we should be doing and any travel advice from cochin airport to kumarakom or any other place. ANY ADVICE WILL BE HIGHLY APPRECIATED. P.S BEACH I have read your advices and it is very good. |

Kumarakom and alleppey are almost similar excerpt for the fact that allepey has beaches. But they are often crowded..
There are enough and more places and resorts in kumarakom to relax and enjoy a sweet honeymoon and is is near to cochin airport than alleppey by around 1 hour drive.. Regarding house boats they are cheaper on direct bargaining than booking via internet.. The houseboat ride through the backwaters may go through alleppey depending on the package.. For that matter if you are intending only a house boat ride you can get that from cochin itself with the house boat travelling through kumarakom and alleppey.. Contact details of various houseboat owners can be obtained over net and other members of the forum.. |
