Accommodation Trivandrum

Hi All,

i am now getting down to the next stage and was wondering if any of you guys know any good,clean basic accomodation in Trivandum.
I have tried e-mailing a couple out of the rough guide but do not seem to be getting very far.

If you are looking for an economy class hotel, may check hotel Regency at hotelregency @ satyam.net.in or regencytvm @ hotmail.com

They have AC rooms for Rs. 800 for a single person, for double occupancy it's Rs. 1000/-

They have cheaper non AC rooms too

I agree, Regency is a decent choice near the train station. I think the 4th floor might be a nonsmoking floor. In any case, most of the hotels near the station are plagued by raunchy cigarette smoke. Avoid the Hotel Highland as the staff tend to be pricks. Regency had clear air, very nice staff, and was quieter than others, being further away from the train station. Room 408 (and all rooms on that side) affords a nice view of the cricket field below, which is always bustling. Sat TV and morning newspaper service add to the value.
